Cancellation Policy

2. Scope

This Cancellation Policy applies to the Complete Beginner Nail Technician Course, advanced and other in-person education, online education, mentoring and consultations, luxury nail appointments, and other booked services supplied by Petra Nails Education.

Products and goods affected by a cancellation are also considered under our Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

3. General Cancellation Principles

We understand that circumstances change. We aim to handle cancellations and rescheduling fairly, taking account of the timing, the service booked, work already provided, products already supplied or committed, reasonable direct losses caused by cancellation, and the opportunity to reduce those losses.

We do not operate a blanket “no cancellation” or “no refund in any circumstances” policy.

4. Statutory Cancellation Rights for Distance Bookings

Where a qualifying consumer contract is made at a distance, for example online or by telephone, statutory cancellation rights may apply. For many service contracts, the statutory cancellation period is 14 days from the day after the contract is entered into, subject to the applicable rules and exceptions.

A statutory cancellation right is separate from any additional rescheduling or cancellation flexibility offered by Petra Nails Education.

5. Early Performance During a Statutory Cancellation Period

If a customer asks for a service to begin before an applicable statutory cancellation period ends, we may require an express request for early performance.

Where the legal requirements are satisfied, a customer who later cancels may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied. Where a service has been fully performed following the required request and acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel may end after full performance.

6. Beginner Course Cancellation Before Training Begins

Students should contact Petra as soon as reasonably possible. The £150 booking deposit forms part of the total price and is not automatically forfeited in every cancellation scenario.

After any applicable statutory cancellation period has ended, any amount retained will be assessed fairly by reference to reasonable direct costs or losses caused by the cancellation and reasonable steps available to reduce those losses.

7. Beginner Course Withdrawal After Training Has Started

Training already provided will not normally form part of a refund for the unprovided remainder, subject to statutory rights.

Example: if Days 1–3 have been completed, the allocated value of training already provided is £389.40. The allocated value of Days 4–5 is £259.60. The £259.60 is not an automatic guaranteed refund; any refund for the unprovided part is assessed fairly under the Refund Policy and applicable law.

The Final Assessment & Certification is included at no additional charge and has no separate allocated refund value, although Petra remains responsible for providing the agreed assessment opportunity.

8. Beginner Course Illness and Rescheduling

If genuine illness or an unexpected emergency prevents attendance, contact Petra as soon as reasonably possible. If you may be contagious, please do not attend.

One complimentary reschedule will normally be offered for a genuine illness or exceptional circumstance. Payments remain allocated to the rescheduled booking and the new date is subject to availability. Further rescheduling requests are considered individually and are not automatically free.

Detailed medical evidence is not routinely required for an ordinary short-term illness.

9. Advanced and Other In-Person Education

Cancellation and rescheduling for advanced or other practical education will follow the service-specific terms shown at booking together with the general fairness and statutory-rights principles in this Policy.

Where no different service-specific arrangement has been stated, Petra will consider reasonable rescheduling for genuine illness or exceptional circumstances, subject to availability and any reasonable costs or losses already incurred.

10. Online Education and Digital Content

Online programmes may combine digital content with services such as live support, mentoring or assessment. Different cancellation rules can apply to each element.

Where qualifying digital content is supplied immediately during an applicable cancellation period, access may affect the statutory right to cancel that digital content only where the required express consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. If those requirements have not been met, statutory rights remain unaffected.

11. Mentoring and Consultations

Mentoring and consultation cancellations will be handled according to the booking information provided for the relevant session, any applicable statutory rights, the notice given, the amount of service already provided and any reasonable direct loss caused by cancellation.

Where practical, Petra may offer rescheduling instead of cancellation.

12. Luxury Nail Appointments – 48-Hour Policy

For a new-client nail appointment, a £10 deposit is required where stated at booking and is applied to the final service total.

  • 48 hours or more before the appointment: the deposit can be transferred to another agreed appointment or refunded.
  • Less than 48 hours before the appointment: the deposit will normally be retained to reflect the reserved appointment time and resulting loss, subject to fairness and statutory rights.
  • Missed appointment / no-show: the deposit will normally be retained, subject to fairness and statutory rights.

The £10 deposit is not intended to operate as a penalty or to compensate Petra Nails Education twice for the same loss.

13. Appointment Lateness

If a customer arrives late, Petra may need to shorten, adapt or in some cases rearrange the service to avoid affecting later appointments. Any payment consequence will be considered reasonably according to the time reserved, service actually provided and circumstances.

A late arrival is not automatically treated as a no-show unless the delay means the appointment can no longer reasonably be provided.

14. No-Show / Non-Attendance for Training or Mentoring

If a student or mentoring client does not attend a confirmed session and has not contacted Petra in advance, the booking will be treated as a no-show. A no-show does not automatically qualify for a complimentary reschedule or refund.

Any further arrangement or amount retained will be considered according to the circumstances, the service already reserved or provided and reasonable direct loss.

15. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Petra

If Petra needs to cancel or rearrange a booking because of illness, emergency or circumstances outside reasonable control, the customer will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible and an alternative date will normally be offered.

There is no rescheduling fee when Petra makes the change. If a suitable alternative cannot be provided or agreed within a reasonable period, the customer may be entitled to a refund for the unprovided service. For a nail appointment cancelled by Petra, the £10 deposit will be transferred or refunded at the customer's choice where reasonably practicable.

16. Products, Kits and Equipment Connected With a Cancellation

Cancellation of a training service does not automatically determine the treatment of physical goods. Products, kits or equipment already supplied, dispatched, specially ordered or opened may be subject to different statutory rules.

The Refund Policy explains how physical goods are handled, including applicable distance-selling rights and exceptions.

17. How to Cancel or Request a Reschedule

Contact Petra as soon as possible at petra@petranailseducation.co.uk or by telephone / WhatsApp on +44 7435 047429.

Please provide your name, the booking or service, the scheduled date and whether you are asking to cancel or reschedule. You do not need to provide unnecessary sensitive medical information.

18. Refunds Following Cancellation

Any refund following a cancellation is determined under our Refund Policy and applicable consumer law. Cancellation and refund are related but are not the same question: a booking may be cancelled even where part of the price remains payable for services already supplied or reasonable loss lawfully caused by the cancellation.

19. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as our services or applicable law change. The version relevant to a booking will normally be the version made available when the booking was entered into.
